Warehouse conversion to office

Telegraph Hill, San Francisco CA

Contractor’s warehouse on a largely residential block was converted to offices for a company that develops and produces food specialties.  Exterior decoration of flat concrete façade—intended to make the building more compatible with its post-1906 earthquake residential neighbors—was inspired by Harvey’s first trip to Rome, although graphic designer Ward Schumaker (inventor of Moose’s droll logo), whose studio was across the street, said it looked African to him.  (Photo: David Wakely)
