Harvey Hacker Architects

Doors, including elevator door frames, were fabricated of bronze and decorated with a studied pattern of bronze screws.  One day during construction, the architect’s wife—who was just passing by—overheard a conversation between two workmen on the site, in which one was cursing the architect for specifying all these screws which, being brass, are quite soft and break off far too easily.
