Knotty pine kitchen |
Woodside CA |
Veteran SF Opera set carpenter who owned this house is a great cook and wanted a new kitchen. We laid out the kitchen in former bedroom space, with consequent reshuffling of most other room labels. Owner hated the knotty pine paneling in the old breakfast nook, but we convinced him to apply Dizzy Gillespie’s advice: “If you play a wrong note, play it again so they think you know what you’re doing.” Of course he built all the cabinets himself. They’re really nice. (Photo: David Wakely) |
