65,000 square foot warehouse, adapting commonly available pre-engineered building components (long span steel frames, light weight sheet metal roofing and siding) to requirements of air cargo operation with two-story elevating transfer vehicle igloo storage system and low-ceiling loading dock annex. Site was pre-loaded with earth surcharge for months to produce accelerated settlement in Bay Mud, which reduces post-occupancy settlement to a tolerable minimum. (Photo: David Wakely) |
